Crew
Crew are the team chosen by the runner to be ultimately responsible in looking after their welfare before, during and after the event and will be able to access and support runners on a large portion of the course.
1. The crew should comprise of a minimum 2 people.
2. All crew members must complete the crew survey (provided to entrants in the weeks prior).
3. Crews must comply with all DU135 rules and regulations.
4. The crew should first and foremost have the runner safety, health and wellbeing as number 1 priority and not just finishing. A crew will in some circumstances need to overrule the runner for their own safety and the crews.
5. Crew will have access to their runners from 20km onwards and will need to be able to read maps and navigate in order to meet your runner along the course.
6. There will be designated DU Hubs on course where crew can camp or power nap (own gear required), these Hubs will monitor the fatigue of the crews and provide water, fruit, a warm fire and some warm food while waiting for your runner.
7. The whole course accessible by 2WD car.
8. Crew cars should be parked in a way as to not block roads or create a safety issue for other road users.

Pacers
A pace runner is any individual who accompanies an entrant for any distance along the route. Pacers must carry all mandatory gear listed in the Mandatory gear section.
1. One pacer may join each runner from the Lohs HUB at approx. 54km point during their outbound journey on Friday. The pacer is not compulsory and is more of a luxury item.
2. Only one pacer may accompany an entrant at any given time.
3. Each pacer must complete the online medical information form (supplied in Event Program to entrants).
4. Pacers must be at least 18 years of age.
5. Each pacer must wear the official pacer bib that corresponds to the entrant they are pacing. Two pacer bibs are provided per entrant.
6. Pacers must stay with their runners at all times, except in the case of an emergency.
7. Change of pacers may only occur at recognized official race Hubs listed in the Hub matrix.
8. Pacers must enter and leave each aid station with their entrant.
9. Pacers must NOT mule, the entrant is responsible to carry their own pack, mandatory gear and belongings at all times.
10. Pacers must carry all mandatory gear listed in the Mandatory gear section.

Rules & Requirements
Rules are in place to ensure the integrity of the event and to create a fair playing field for all who participate.
Failure to adhere to the following rules will be grounds for disqualification from event. Race Committees decisions are final.
1. All entrants must carry all mandatory gear at all times (see mandatory gear). There will be mandatory gear checks on course.
2. Each entrant must ensure they are signed in on arrival and out on departure of all nominated DU Hubs (checkpoints).
3. Entrants must leave / progress forward away from Hub’s before the designated cut off times. If entrants are unable to proceed away from the Hub before the cut off time has elapsed they will be withdrawn from the event.
4. Pacers must not mule any gear for entrants (entrants to carry own mandatory gear at all times).
5. Entrants are responsible for the actions of their crews and pacers at all times.
6. Entrants must wear their official race bib in a frontal position and be easily visible to Hub staff.
7. Entrants must strictly adhere to cut off times in place at checkpoints. DU Hub captain’s decision is final. Entrants must be collected by support crews from DU Hubs if cut off times are not met or if they withdraw (see cut off times). Entrants may be transported back to Blackwood event Hub by event staff if they miss a cut-off or withdraw.
8. This is a mutual support event. Entrants and support crews must offer assistance to others in distress.
9. As entrants exit the event either via withdrawal or at the finish line they should allow the medical team to give them a quick medical once over.
Failure to comply with event rules may result in a 2 hour stoppage penalty or disqualification from the event. Penalty will be served at the next available DU Hub.
