Course Description
Gnarly, Technical, Aggressive Vert, Beautiful - enough said

The Down Under 135 will start in a picnic ground on the outskirts of Bacchus Marsh, Victoria. Where the race starts with the crack of a whip and athletes are released into the Lerdy like a scene from the Hunger Games.
Leaving the MacKenzie Flat picnic ground entrants will make their way solo along the Lerderderg River as they navigate through the gorge area to Mt Blackwood. The gorge will bite early with a series tough technical climbs and descents sapping even the most hardened athletes on fresh legs, crews will have access to entrants from the 22km mark.
After Mt Blackwood the entrants will drop back into the gorge onto technical single trail and rough off trail sections along the river through O'Briens Crossing then into the outskirts of the gold mining town of Blackwood to their turn around point.
Entrants can take on a pacer late on day one to help safely navigate and guide them to the finish.

Course Map (Released close to event date)
Back in hiding for 2023, traditionally we don't release the course until days before however the athletes will be given important information to assist planning in the weeks prior.
Uniquely our course changes every year to keep our returning entrants enthralled about what lay around the next corner. We do not suggest using previous years maps as a planning guide as our course engineers have unlimited ways to dish up the gnarly stuff.
