Down Under 135
is one of the Southern Hemisphere's
Gnarliest Foot Races
Down Under 135 is created by 4 mates who have shown and proven in its first 4 editions that DU135 is one of the gnarliest, super demanding and extreme foot races offered anywhere in Australia. Covering 135 miles (220 km) single stage non-stop from start to finish, competitors will adventure across the single trails of the Lerderderg and Wombat State Forests in Victoria located only 40km west of the Melbourne Airport and CBD.
DU135 is the race where the cliché of 'finding my limits' can genuinely be enacted. The race is not just about finishing. Most starters understand the enormity of the challenge in front of them and appreciate the race for what it gives them.....
A chance to find their limits.
This race is not for the athlete who has an ego about their DNF rate.
Making it to half way, you will still achieve 110km and 6000m+ of vert. These numbers alone (on paper) equate to the hardest 100km race in the nation.
For those who watched the 2022 race, here are some tweaks we can tell you about to help you decide if 2023 is the year for you.
- a finisher will expect no more 220km on their watch
- one more hour will be added to make the overall race cutoff 55hours
- cutoffs will be more relaxed in the middle stages to allow more entrants the chance of reaching 160km
- no mandatory pacers
- drop bags available for all entrants
